Chrome has a new design in Windows 11: this is how you turn it on

Chrome version 96 contains a new look that is more in line with the design of Windows 11, the new version of Microsoft’s operating system. Chrome gets more rounded corners. The feature is not yet active by default, but we’ll show you how to activate it now.

Chrome and Windows 11

Whether or not your PC makes the switch to Windows 11, Google is sure to adapt to the new look that Microsoft developers have presented. Rounded corners are still very much in demand – where have we seen it before? – and that can also be seen in the new look of the Chrome browser. Especially if you take a look at the menus you notice the rounded corners.

With version 96 you can activate the design. So it is not yet active by default, but you can now turn it on as an experimental function for the first time, you know that 9To5Google. We do that on the basis of the Chrome flags, which is Google’s summary of all functions that are still being worked on behind the scenes. At this point, we haven’t noticed any flaws with the Windows 11 design in the editors.

Roadmap

Follow the steps below if you also want to test it:

  1. Press it menu with the three dots right in Chrome
  2. Go to Help and About Google Chrome
  3. Check about version 96 is already installed. If necessary, restart your browser as soon as this is the case.
  4. type Chrome://flags in Chrome’s address bar and press Enter
  5. In the search bar of the Chrome flags page, type win11 and press Enter
  6. At the drop-down menu of Windows 11 Style Menus choose you Enabled
  7. Choose below Relaunch
  8. Your browser will start with the new look
