Google’s browser has a function to easily export saved passwords for later use in another application, such as a password manager for example.
Since version 64, Google’s Chrome browser has been equipped with an export function for the passwords that you have saved. All your sesames are saved in a CSV file, a format compatible with most password managers, for example Lastpass or 1Password. Here’s how to use this feature:
1 – Activate the function in the settings of Chrome
Launch Chrome and type chrome: // flags in the web address box. Then type Password export in the search box. Click on the drop-down list and select Enabled.

A button RELAUNCH NOW appears at the bottom of the window. Click on it to relaunch Chrome to activate the function.
2 – Export passwords
- Click on the menu icon (three small horizontal dots) located at the top right, then on Settings from the drop-down list.

- Scroll down the settings view and click advanced settings. Even further down, find the section Passwords and forms and click on Manage passwords.

- To the right of the section Saved passwords, click on the icon of the three small horizontal dots, then on the button Export. Then click on the button EXPORT PASSWORDS in the window that has just appeared.

Windows may display a security message. In this case, enter the password for your session. Your passwords will then be saved in a CSV file, which you can open with Excel to view its content. Then, load it in your password manager and delete it immediately because the data it contains is in “clear” and therefore accessible by any person on your computer.
