Groupe PSA has recently equipped its commercial vehicle range with electric versions at a rapid pace. The latest exponent is this fully electric version of the Berlingo. We welcome: the Citroën ë-Berlingo Van.
In the second half of this year, Citroën will park the fully electric ë-Berlingo Van at the dealers, an electric variant of the Berlingo Van, in turn the van version of the regular Berlingo. The ë-Berlingo Van, which, like the regular purchaser, has a nose that differs from the passenger version, has a 50 kWh battery pack in its bottom, good for a range of 275 kilometers. The battery pack can be charged up to 80 percent in about thirty minutes.
We know the electric motor from the e-208 and Opel Mokka-e. On the front axle is the well-known 136 hp and 260 Nm strong electric aggregate. In normal driving mode, it delivers 109 hp and 180 Nm. In Eco mode, power delivery is limited to 82 hp and 190 Nm, while full power of 136 hp is put on the road only in Power mode.
Just like the regular Berlingo Van, the ë-Berlingo Van comes onto the market in the lengths M and XL. The M version is 4.40 meters long and offers a loading length of 1.81 meters and a loading volume of 3.3 cubic meters. The XL extends over a distance of 4.75 meters and also has a longer wheelbase of 2.97 meters. The charging length of the XL is 2.16 meters, which gives the largest plug-in Berlingo a loading volume of 4.4 cubic meters. The payload of both versions is 800 kilos and with both electric Berlingos you can tow up to 750 kilos.
From the outside, the ë-Berlingo Van can really only be recognized by the missing exhaust pipes and the ë-tje on the tailgate and on the ‘tailgate’. The rotary knob of the automatic transmission is housed in the center console. In the center of the dashboard is a 5-inch touch screen that belongs to the infotainment system. A 10-inch screen and a head-up display are optional.
The ë-Berlingo Van will be available at dealers from the fourth quarter, so prices are not yet available. Electric versions of the Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo will follow later.
