The all-electric Citroën Ami focused on urban transport is far beyond its scope comfort zone. In the form of the Citroën My Ami Buggy Concept, we get to see how the Ami could save itself next to the asphalt.

We don’t say ‘could save’ for nothing, because for the time being the Citroën My Ami Buggy is no more than a study model. It also seems quite likely that it will stay that way, although we would not be surprised if some cool decoration of the My Ami Buggy will eventually also be added to the option list of the regular Ami.

In any case, it looks wonderfully quirky, as we are used to from Citroën. Normally, the Ami is already a car with a high level of cuddliness, that also applies to this adventurous version in a different way. The brave little one stands on extra-large wheels with off-road rubber and fights against the dangers of the great outdoors with real bull bars. The lamps are also extra protected against splashing stones. Extra wide fenders and heavily molded ‘doors’ give the Ami a thicker build. If you want to have a good view in dark places, you can switch on a thick light bar on the roof of the My Ami Buggy in addition to the normal headlights.

Do you recognize a hint of Citroën Méhari in the Ami Buggy, then it is undoubtedly through the ‘doors’. They are tiny ones that can be expanded upwards with canvas cloths that you can zip away, just like the 2CV-based adventurer used to have. They can be partially or completely zipped away. If you want to store them completely, you can do that in special storage bags that you find behind the seats. Because of this nod to the Méhari, it is not surprising that Citroën also parked a Méhari in the last photo.
