If you are looking for a tablet that you want to use as a laptop replacement and that is suitable for photo and video editing, then the iPad Pro 2025 is undoubtedly your best choice. With a price of € 997.90, this iPad is of course not very cheap. You can also choose the predecessor. That is the iPad Pro 2024. However, it is hardly cheaper, so you won’t get much out of it. iPad Air 2025

If you want a fast tablet for gaming, for example, but you don’t need the fastest of the fastest, then choose the iPad Air 2025. This iPad is also available in 11 and 13 inches, and runs on the M3 chip. It is of course somewhat slower than the M4 chip in the iPad Pro 2024, but also faster and more energy efficient than the M2 chip in the iPad Air 2024. This makes the latest iPad Air up to twenty percent faster than the one from 2024. This is especially noticeable when performing graphically more demanding tasks, such as playing games.

iPad mini 2024

Furthermore, the iPad mini 2024 has a much more powerful processor. The small, handy tablet runs on the A17 Pro chip, which we also see in the iPhone 15 Pro (Max). You can currently buy the iPad mini 2024 for €518. You can save about 100 euros if you choose the predecessor, because the iPad mini 2021 now costs € 394. If you would like to save even more, you can choose a refurbished model. You currently pay €282.99 for this.

iPad 2025

The iPad 2025 runs on the A16 chip. That is reasonable progress, because the predecessor has an A14 Bionic chip. Furthermore, Apple has made few changes. The tablet has the same design and screen, and we also see no improvements in the camera. The standard version of the iPad has been expanded to 128 GB of storage space. The tablet does not support Apple Intelligence. If that is not important to you, you can save a lot of money by choosing this iPad.

The iPad 2025 is your cheapest option if you want a new iPad. You can currently buy it for €365. The tablet obviously has its limitations, but it is perfectly suitable for home and garden use. You can save some money if you choose the predecessor iPad 2022, but we do not recommend that because of the much faster chip in the 2025 version.

Which iPad is for whom?

So there are four good iPads to choose from plus possibly a number of refurbished models. We summarize it below:

• iPad Pro 2025: the fastest and most advanced tablet of the moment. There is an 11-inch and a 13-inch version and they are available in two colors: Silver and Space Black. The iPad Pro 2024 is especially suitable if you use the tablet as a laptop replacement and plan to do a lot of photo and video editing.
• iPad Air 2025: This is a good choice if you don’t need absolute top performance, but still want smooth gaming on a regular basis. We do not recommend choosing the predecessor. It is a lot slower and in terms of money it will save you less than 50 euros.
• iPad mini 2024: if you want an iPad that you can easily take with you and that has the perfect size for reading, watching series or films and taking notes, then choose the iPad mini 2024. If you want to save money, then choose the (refurbished) predecessor.
• iPad 2025: if you don’t want to spend too much and a tablet for home and kitchen use is sufficient, then choose the iPad 2025. If you choose the predecessor, you will save a few bucks, but we do not recommend that because of the slower chip.
