Concours d’Elegance Pebble Beach is canceled

It should come as no surprise that virtually no major event, national or international, will take place in the coming months. Neither does the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The Monterey Car Week in the American state of California is full of prestigious car parties, but also the fun Concours d’Lemons. So there is something for everyone. The organization behind the Concours d’Elegance, which is held annually in Pebble Beach, announces today that the exclusive event will not take place this year. The reason behind the decision is easy to guess: concerns about possible further spread of the coronavirus.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is scheduled to take place on August 16. This year’s edition would mark the seventieth anniversary of the competition, an event in which not only beautiful classics in various classes compete for the hearts of the judges, but where car manufacturers regularly present car news. For example, in 2018 Infiniti showed the impressive Prototype 10.

We must disappoint those who are hopeful that the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be postponed. The organization behind the event indicates that the seventieth edition of the competition will take place on August 15, 2021. The complete interpretation of this year’s edition will therefore be transferred almost one-on-one to next year. Anyone who has managed to get a ticket can visit the festival next year. Prefer a refund? That is also possible according to the organization.
