‘Target price around 15,000 euros’

Dacia
Parent company Renault confirms the arrival of the first fully electric Dacia. That is good news, especially for private individuals, who want to drive electrically at an affordable price.
Purchase an electric car from € 15,000, who doesn’t want that? Next year, electric driving will be within the reach of a much larger group of car drivers, thanks to the first Dacia budget model with electric power train.
Now that the Geneva Motor Show has been canceled, parent company Renault Group is announcing which scoops it wanted to take with it. This includes Dacia’s ‘most accessible 100% electric city car on the market’, probably in the form of a concept car. The car itself is expected next year.
So a city car – the brand indicates that it is a completely new Dacia model and not the electrification of an existing Dacia. According to various media, this would be the electrical version of the Renault K-EV, which is sold in countries such as India and China. We have already seen the basis for the K-EV as the study model Kwid, a compact SUV.
The most interesting selling point of the electric Dacia is its price. Although the Renault Group has not yet mentioned an amount, a target price of around 15,000 euros is circulating. Even if it is higher, it is still (over) 10,000 euros below the prices of electric competitors. We call that a welcome addition to the already more affordable electric vehicle segment.
