Dark background in Edge

Are the menus in the Internet application Edge not legible? Then give Edge a dark background.

The Edge browser tabs, address bar, and menus are light gray with black lettering by default. Some find light-colored text on a dark background more comfortable to read. Feel free to try it out and decide what you like.

So on the PC, change the background color in Edge to dark.

  • Open the Microsoft Edge browser.
  • Click on the three dots at the top right.
  • click on Institutions.
  • Click on the left Appearance.
  • Click behind ‘Theme’ on the drop-down menu > Dark.

The browser changes color. Still not to your liking? Then go through the above steps again and select the theme light.

Make the background in Edge dark on iPhone and iPad like this:

  • Open the app Edge.
  • Tap the three dots at the bottom.
  • Tap on Institutions.
  • Tap on Appearance.
  • Choose the option Dark > Ready.

This is how you set a dark theme in Edge on an Android device.

  • Open the app Edge.
  • Tap the three dots icon.
  • Tap on Institutions.
  • Tap on Appearance.
  • Tap on Dark.
  • Tap the back arrow (several times) to return to the web page.
