Did Samsung accidentally compliment the OPPO Find N

Samsung may have accidentally complimented its competitor’s foldable phone. Under a gif of the OPPO Find N, it wrote the comment: “Pretty impressive”. It is probably a mistake by Samsung’s social media team.

Samsung’s compliment to OPPO

Samsung already released the third generation of its Z Fold 3 last year. For a long time, it was along with the only major player to have released a phone that folds open like a booklet with the screen inside. The Huawei Mate Xs, for example, folds with the screen along the outside. At the end of 2021, however, competitor OPPO proposed the Find N, a phone that closely resembles the concept of the Z Fold 3, but comes with a smaller screen.

Samsung’s US branch has responded under a gif of the OPPO Find N with the message: “Pretty impressive”, that has 9To5Google observed. The employee of the social media team probably mistook the Find N for a Galaxy Z Fold 3. Although there is a chance that Samsung intended the response as a compliment to foldable phones as a product category as a whole, but that seems less likely. Whether it was an accident or not, OPPO has already accepted the compliment on Twitter†

Find N and Z Fold 4

Nevertheless, the Find N is currently only for sale in China and it is not known whether the phone will also be for sale in the Netherlands and Belgium at a later date. On the other hand, we expect a new generation of foldables from Samsung in the summer. The Galaxy Z devices were announced in August last year.
