Apple has introduced a range of new bands for the Apple Watch, but will they work with older Apple Watches? Here’s what you need to know.
Apple Watch Series 10 has a new design
At the iPhone 16 event, Apple not only unveiled new iPhones, but also presented the tenth generation of the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch Series 10 has a new design, with the largest screen we have ever seen on an Apple Watch. Like every year, Apple also released new bands for the Apple Watch, which match the colors of the new Watches.
The Apple Watch Series 10 has been released for the first time in a titanium version. Previously, that material was exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra (2), but now the ‘normal’ Apple Watch has a similar casing. Apple has released matching Milanese titanium straps, which fit well with the latest Apple Watch. Do they still work with the older generations of the smartwatch?
New straps on older models?
Rumors have long swirled that Apple would completely overhaul the design of the Apple Watch Series 10. The company reportedly planned to switch to a new system in which the bands attach magnetically to the Apple Watch. It has now become clear that the design has indeed changed, as the Apple Watch Series 10 is much thinner, larger and made of different materials than the Apple Watch Series 9.
However, not all rumors were true, because Apple has not changed the system of the straps on the Apple Watch. The new straps work the same, you simply slide them into the housing of the smartwatch. That is good news, because it means that the new straps also fit older Apple Watches. The same applies the other way around, you can You can also use the watch straps you currently have with the Apple Watch Series 10.
Order Apple Watch Series 10
You don’t need to buy new bands if you’re planning on getting the Apple Watch Series 10. It’s unclear whether Apple will switch to a magnetic connection next year or stick with the slider system for the Watch bands. For now, the existing bands will work with the latest Apple Watch, and you can use the new watch bands with older models.
