The Netherlands is one car manufacturer richer in the form of Sam’s Garage, a company that will build and sell upgraded Jeeps Wrangler. The design comes from the Dutch Heritage Customs, the basis of Jeep and (if desired) from America’s Most Wanted 4×4, an American company that equips the Wrangler with an extra potent V8. This week, Sam’s Garage presents its product and brand for the first time at the Masters Expo Amsterdam 2022, which takes place from Thursday to Sunday.
In its own words, the new Sam’s Garage, founded by Samuel van Vollenhoven (son of Prince Bernhard van Oranje), is the producer of “the world’s first performance-oriented luxury Jeep Wranglers”. Those performance pretensions are in a new suspension and (optionally) in the engine range. Sam’s Garage is the new Dutch partner of the American America’s Most Wanted 4×4, which spoons Hemi V8 engines into Jeeps Wrangler. The result: an up to 840 (!) horsepower Jeep Wrangler. Sam’s Garage takes copies of the model and then overloads them with high-quality materials and exterior modifications. They were designed by the also Dutch Heritage Customs, in which designer Niels van Roij is also involved.
Are you interested in one custom Jeep Wrangler, then you can choose from two versions at Sam’s Garage: one with 20-inch wheels and thick off-road tires and one with 22-inch wheels surrounded by sporty rubber. You further distinguish the variants by looking at the grille: in the off-road version it has the traditional, vertical bars for Jeep. With the performance taste, those bars have been omitted and you will find one large opening.
The chairs are completely refurbished at Sam’s Garage.
The wheel suspension and brakes are also being overhauled at Sam’s Garage for better handling. The Jeep was already allowed to prove this on the Zandvoort circuit, as can be seen in the photos. The new player in the car world remains silent about further technical adjustments – except for a different exhaust system. In addition, it appears that the V8 conversion of America’s Most Wanted 4×4 is optional. Normally, the Jeep Wrangler in the Netherlands is only available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Entirely according to personal wishes
We suspect that you can also offer that variant in unmodified form at Sam’s Garage. What the new company still has to offer you are external adjustments. In addition to the grille and wheels mentioned, Sam’s Garage will paint your Wrangler in a color of your choice. Additional gray-colored details on the outside are also possible. On the inside of the off-roader, Sam’s Garage provides a completely new and higher quality finish, with extensive use of – your choice – leather or Alcantara. Sports seats, a different audio system and personal details are also possible. Each Wrangler is built to customer specifications.
Details about when Sam’s Garage products will be available will follow at a later stage. Interested parties can in any case already enjoy the new product this weekend at the Masters Expo in Amsterdam. There are potentially quite a few, because Jeep is doing better business than ever with its current Wrangler. In 2021 and 2022 together, the brand sold almost 300 in the Netherlands.
