A special moment in the history of the Ford F-150: the pick-up, which is very popular elsewhere, is officially available in Europe. It concerns the fully electric Ford F-150 Lightning, and for the time being one specific European country.

Now that you have clicked on the article: that country is not the Netherlands. Ford currently only supplies the F-150 Lightning in our part of the world in Norway, although that may change. Ford wants to put more emphasis on its American roots in several respects. The (often on a small scale) import of primal American models such as the Bronco and of course the Mustang is part of that and the F-150 fits into that picture.

At the same time, there is of course more going on here, because as an EV, such an F-150 Lightning certainly has more chances on European soil than the Bronco powered by a V6. It is therefore no coincidence that the pick-up is being launched in Norway, because that is probably the only country that has embraced the EV even more strongly than the Netherlands. Judging by earlier statements by the importer, the chance that our country will be added to the list is by no means absent. We have asked about the current state of affairs and will adjust this article if interesting information emerges.

Anyone interested in the electric Ford F-150 Lightning can view our experiences with this model here. The Lightning is quite a ‘big deal’ in its home country of the US, if only because an F-150 is there anyway. F-Series pickups are hugely popular in North America and have held the No. 1 sales ranking in the United States as a model series for more than 41 years. Not just from pick-ups, but from all motor vehicles together!
