204 hp or 384 hp?

Kia has opened the Dutch order books for the EV9. The Kia EV9 is a large electric SUV that introduces a completely new design for Kia and that immediately takes on the role of electric flagship. The Kia EV9 has a provisional starting price of almost €72,000 in the Netherlands.
Kia introduced the EV9 with appropriate fanfare in March. The Kia EV9 is the electric top model of the brand, and despite being a 5.01 meter long SUV, it will also come to the Netherlands. We have already written extensively about the EV9 several times, but what we could not tell you was what amounts you have to pay for this SUV. We can now answer that too. Kia has opened the Dutch order lists, although there are currently only two introductory versions that listen to the names Launch Edition and Launch Edition GT-Line.
Kia EV9
Launch Edition Single Motor: 204 hp
The Kia EV9 Launch Edition Single Motor has a single 204 hp and 350 Nm strong electric motor on the rear axle and draws its energy from a 99.8 kWh battery pack. This version is available from €71,495. With its 204 hp, this least potent EV9 reaches a speed of 100 km / h in 9.4 seconds and you can reach a maximum speed of 185 km / h. More interesting is the range. That is 541 kilometers. Fast charging is possible with 240 kW.
This introductory version, like the other special welcome edition, is a seven-seater variant and is already quite well stocked. A head-up display, electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats, a driver’s seat with memory function and massage function, artificial leather upholstery, a digital interior mirror and an extensive Meridan audio system with fourteen speakers are standard. The same applies to an active lane assist and a function that enables semi-autonomous driving on the highway. The Launch Edition Single Motor is on 19-inch alloy, has recessed door handles and privacy glass.
Kia EV9
Launch Edition GT Line: 384 hp
The second introductory version of the Kia EV9 is the Launch Edition GT-Line Dual Motor. It has – its name already gives it away – two together 384 hp and 700 Nm strong electric motors and costs €78,895. The EV9 with two electric motors buzzes to 100 km / h in just 5.3 seconds and also has a higher top speed than the Single Motor variant. The EV9 Dual Motor only throws in the towel at 200 km/h. However, you have to settle for a smaller range. The EV9 Dual Motor can travel up to 450 kilometers on a full battery.
The Kia EV9 Launch Edition GT-Line has everything that the other introductory version also has, but adds things like a parking assistant with remote control, extensive parking assistance, full-Matrix LED headlights, a large sliding and tilting roof and 21-inch alloys. The GT-Line also has several in high-gloss black and satin chrome executed exterior parts. As an option, this GT-Line is available as a six-seater with two 180-degree swivel seats in the second row. That option costs €1,000.
The first copies of the Kia EV9 will arrive in the Netherlands in mid-October.
