More than 40 percent more range

After the hybrid version of the Lexus UX, the fully electric variant will now also receive a model year update. The news: the crossover now has a considerably larger battery, so that the WLTP range grows from 315 to 450 km.
The battery of the Lexus UX 300e now measures 72.8 kWh. So far that was 54.3 kWh. The new copy is good for a WLTP range of 450 km, provided the Lexus is on 17-inch wheels. If you go for 18 inches or larger, the maximum range according to the WLTP standard is slightly more limited: 440 km. Lexus does not change the drive of the UX 300e, the 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque strong electric motor on the front axle remains.
The model year update for the UX 300e comes as no surprise. Less than six months ago, Lexus already implemented it on the UX 250h, the hybrid variant of the brand’s smallest crossover. With the exception of a new optional exterior color called Sonic Platinum, the update does not change the exterior of the EV. Inside, Lexus’ new infotainment system is the big news.
Touchpad disappears
From now on you can choose from an 8 or 12.3-inch large touch screen, instead of a 7 or 10 inch large screen operated with a touchpad. That disappeared from the center console and made way for the operation of the seat heating, or in less luxurious variants for a storage compartment. To place the touchscreen within easy reach, the screen moved about 14 centimeters closer to the driver. The system offers more options than before.
Where the model year update for the UX without plug also brought a new version, the F Sport Line, Lexus does not say a word about such a version for the fully electric UX. The importer is also not yet able to report whether it will come. The prices for the renewed UX 300e are not yet known. In 2021, the EV went on sale for a while and the starting price dropped just below €40,000. You can now enter a UX for from €51,995. It is likely that that asking price will be higher from the moment that the UX 300e has a considerably larger battery on board. European deliveries of the updated UX 300e will take place from May next year.
