Mercedes-Benz has yet to show the EQS to the world in full regalia, but the car can already be reserved. The first copies should even be delivered in the second half of this year. It is apparently still too early for a complete unveiling of the top electric sedan, but Stuttgart shows in a teaser video more of the promising workplace of its electric equivalent of the S-class.
Mercedes-Benz EQS
In January this year, Mercedes-Benz already released the first information about the MBUX Hyperscreen that will debut in the EQS. The MBUX Hyperscreen is a new and very extensive version of the MBUX multimedia system that we already know from almost all Mercedes models. However, the Hyperscreen variant is a special one. It consists of a 1.41 meter wide curved piece of glass in which three OLED screens are housed. Two of them are for the driver. The first is directly behind the wheel, the second in the center console. With the help of that second screen you also control the climate control. The third screen is more or less in front of the passenger’s nose. Nice detail: if there is no passenger in the passenger seat, that part of the display changes into a ‘decorative part’ with floating Mercedes logos. The MBUX Hyperscreen consists of more than three displays. So the system gives thanks artificial intelligence various suggestions based on the behavior of the driver and his co-driver. The suggestions provided by the system are easy to accept or reject. Here you will find an extensive story about the MBUX Hyperscreen.
Mercedes-Benz EQS
Glimpse from the outside
In the meantime, Mercedes-Benz has already sketched a nice picture of what the interior of the EQS will look like with all the reports about the MBUX Hyperscreen, but the exterior has remained well packaged to date. Mercedes-Benz is now showing a bit more on its social media. It seems that the EQS gets the familiar LED bars of the EQ models both in front and behind, in addition, the curved, streamlined shape is striking. The full unveiling of the electric flagship will probably not be very long in coming.
Mercedes-Benz EQS
The EQS will be the top EV limo from Mercedes-Benz, and not just an S-class with an electric powertrain. The car is on a modular electric platform and will also have its own carriage. Mercedes-Benz promises a range of no less than 700 kilometers. The EQS, a competitor for BMW’s upcoming i7, will roll off the production line in Sindelfingen later this year.
