Also electric e-5008 on the way

Peugeot wants to become the largest manufacturer of electric cars in Europe. The brand does not just manage to do that and now the brand is letting us know more about how it wants to achieve this. We know which new models will arrive within two years and even have the first data on the new Peugeot 3008!
Initially, Peugeot would only sell new electric passenger cars in Europe from 2030, but that is now tightening up considerably. From 2025, every Peugeot will also be fully electrically available. Within the next two years, the brand will launch five new EVs on the European market. That was already known, but now we know which one.
Peugeot is already showing an image with which it looks ahead to the distant future in which every model is electric and drenched in the new design language of the Peugeot Inception Concept. That design language seeps through to the new models from 2025, but Peugeot also has a lot of plans before 2025.
You probably already knew three of Peugeot’s four electric newcomers. Peugeot calls the already announced electric Peugeot e-308 Hatchback and e-308 SW two separate models and logically it classifies the already announced electric variant of the brand new 408 among the newcomers. The electric Peugeot e-308 and e-308 SW will have a 54 kWh battery (net: 51 kWh) and a 156 hp electric motor. They have a range of more than 400 kilometers. For the mentioned but yet to be revealed e-408, we are betting on the same powertrain. The Peugeot e-2008 – like the e-208 before – also gets that electric powertrain and will probably also be about 400 kilometers away.
The new Peugeot 3008 has already been caught. It has a more sloping roofline.
Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008
The remaining two new electric Peugeots are the new 3008 and 5008. These will be very important models. Not only for Peugeot, but also for Stellantis. They will be the first Stellantis cars to be placed on a variant of the modular and EV-only STLA platform family. In the case of the Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008, this is the STLA Medium variant.
You read that right: the new Peugeot 3008 and 5008 are therefore called e-3008 and e-5008 and are therefore fully developed as electric cars. They don’t get combustion engines. The Peugeot e-3008 is even coming soon. The e-3008 will be unveiled in the second half of this year. It comes on the market with three different powertrains and there is also a four-wheel drive version with two electric motors. The range seems very promising. Peugeot specifies a range of up to 700 kilometers for the e-3008! The e-5008 follows shortly after the e-3008.
The electric e-408 is seen for the first time, here on the right.
New hybrid
What about the existing models with combustion engines? Peugeot does not forget that either. Peugeot introduces new mild hybrid powertrains for the Peugeot 208, 2008, 308, 3008, 5008 and 408. There will be 100 hp and 130 hp PureTech power sources supported by a 48v mild hybrid system in combination with a 29 hp electric motor. The latter is incorporated into a new six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
According to Peugeot, the new mild-hybrid powertrains deliver a fuel consumption gain of up to 15 percent. At low speed you can drive no more than 1 kilometer electrically, according to Peugeot. Soon every Peugeot will be electrified, and fully electrically available in Europe from 2025. The latter may mean that the current 508 will disappear from the range by 2025, unless the French still want to provide the large middle class with an electric powertrain.
