Countdown to January 25
Shortly before the unveiling of the electric Porsche Macan, the Germans show what you can expect from the design of the electric Macan. Do these sketches not provide a clear enough picture? Then you won’t have to wait long, because the electric Macan will arrive soon. Very quick.
More sketch work from Germany. On the day that Volkswagen design boss Andreas Mindt released sketches of the facelifted Volkswagen Golf, Porsche released a set of design sketches of the electric Macan into the world. Porsche has shown that electric Macan several times before, although until now the car has always been covered in camouflage to a greater or lesser extent.
The electric Porsche Macan gets tweaked, Taycan-like light units that are filled with four LED modules. The actual headlights are located one floor lower in the front. They are housed in elements that should somewhat resemble cooling vents. The electric Macan has a fairly steeply sloping roofline, which ends in a buttock with an LED bar running across the entire width. The model name Macan – and not ‘Macan EV’ – is written out in a fairly subtle format on the tailgate.
The Porsche Macan is based on the PPE platform jointly developed by Porsche and Audi, a basis that will also be used for the A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron. The electric Porsche Cayenne, which will be released in a few years, may also be on that platform. It is the first time that Porsche has succeeded an existing model with a fully electric model. The Taycan was of course the first electric Porsche, but that car had no direct predecessor. Here you can read more about the technology of the electric Porsche Macan.
You don’t have to wait long for the new Porsche Macan. The electric SUV will make its debut this week – on January 25 to be precise.
