Electric top SUV Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: more for more

Mercedes-Benz is adjusting the delivery range of its largest electric SUV: the EQS SUV. The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is now only available in one version and it is always sporty.

In the market for an electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz, but are the EQB, EQC and EQE SUV all too small for you? Then you don’t have to immediately switch to another brand. Mercedes-Benz also offers the 5.13 meter long EQS SUV, available with seven seats. The delivery range of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV will now look slightly different.

Provided that no changes will be made to the engine versions in which the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is available. The EQS SUV is now available again as the EQS SUV 450+ with a 360 hp electric motor on the rear axle and – like all other EQS SUVs – with a 118 kWh battery pack. Above this are the EQS SUV 450-without-plus but with 4Matic with two combined 360 hp electric motors, the EQS SUV 500 4Matic and EQS SUV 580 4Matic. The EQS 500 SUV 4Matic has 449 hp, the 580 4Matic produces 544 hp. Until recently, the entry-level 450+ and the 450 4Matic were available from the Luxury Line version and the party started with the other engine versions at the AMG Line equipment level. From now on, every Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is equipped as an AMG Line as standard.

Does that mean that the EQS 450+ and 450 4Matic have immediately become much more expensive? Yes and no. As an AMG Line, the EQS 450+ with its new starting price of €125,425 costs around €4,500 more than it cost as a Luxury Line, but still €1,936 less than it previously cost as an AMG Line. The other engine versions of the EQS are also several thousand euros less expensive as AMG Line than they were previously in that version, with the exception of the EQS 580 4Matic. It will actually be more than €6,500 more expensive and is now in the order books from €142,500.

But there is more that mitigates the price increase. The EQS SUV is now considerably more spacious. The MBUX Hyperscreen, which previously cost thousands of euros, is now standard. Also now available: an electrically operated tailgate, a heated rear seat, rear side airbags and a 22 kW AC on-board charger. Count your profit, although an EQS SUV will of course never be a bargain.
