More expensive and cheaper
Volvo adjusts the delivery range of the electric XC40. The Volvo XC40 Recharge will be less expensive due to the arrival of a new version, although the prices of other versions will soon increase.
Anyone who went shopping for an electric XC40 Recharge at Volvo could step into a 238 hp XC40 Recharge Pure Electric in Core version from €47,995. There is now a new and less expensive version: the Essential. The Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric Single Motor Essential costs €45,995, making it 2 grand cheaper than the Core version before. Before indeed. That Core version will be more expensive than it was. More about that later.
SEPP grant for Volvo XC40
The arrival of the new Essential version is undoubtedly related to the existence of the SEPP purchase subsidy that you can get on the purchase of a new electric car with a list price of up to €45,000. The list price – i.e. excluding costs for preparing to drive – of the new XC40 variant is €44,830, which means that you are eligible for the purchase subsidy of €2,950.
Also more expensive
The Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric Single Motor Core is now on the order books from €49,495 (previously: €49,995). The Plus flavor also becomes more expensive and changes hands with the basic powertrain from €53,495.
The Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is also available again as a 252 hp Single Motor Extended Range. As a Core, it changes hands from €51,495 and is therefore more expensive than it was (€49,995). The 408 hp Volvo XC40 Recharge Twin Pure Electric will be €1,500 more expensive and is available as Plus from €59,995 in the order books.
