Even after the facelift, the Nissan Note Aura is wider than the normal Note

Nissan Note Aura

The Nissan Note has not been for sale in Europe for quite some time, but the third generation was renewed in Japan at the end of last year. This is now also happening with the Nota Aura, which hardly looks different but still distinguishes itself in a rather bizarre way.

Since the third generation, which was never delivered in Europe, the Nissan Note is more than ever a high hatchback instead of a small MPV. The latest model is less high than the Note that we used to get in Europe and therefore looks less van-like. The current Note is available as a Note, as a crossover version Note Autech and as a Note Aura. After the Note and the Note Autech, the Note Aura has now also been facelifted. The grille now extends below the extreme corners of the headlights, which are still a bit flatter and more vicious than on the regular Note. Three body-colored elements under each headlight give the Note Aura a more modern appearance.

The Note on the left, the Note Aura on the right. Note the rear screen.

We take note of it with a bit of a shrug, because the fascination of the Nissan Note Aura has nothing to do with the facelift. The Note Aura is intended as a more luxurious and expensive version of the Note. We can understand that Nissan wants to underline that point by providing the Aura with a subtly different nose. However, if you look closely, you will see that the rear screens of the Aura are also different. The ‘fold’ that goes up after the rear doors in the regular variant continues horizontally in the Aura. There is a reason for this, but a very thin one: the Note Aura is slightly wider at the rear screens than the regular Note. Those rear screens are completely different, a pretty serious intervention for something you can hardly see.
