AC Cars is 120 years old this year and the British like to think about that. The recently unveiled AC Cobra 378 Superblower with V8 also comes in an extra exclusive edition of 12 pieces. One for every decade.
AC Cars has not always been active in its existence, but this year it will be at least 120 years ago that the brand was founded. The famous Cobra from the 1960s was revived ten years ago. Since then, Cobras have been built in limited numbers. AC currently offers (again in a limited edition) the Cobra with a 354 hp 2.3 Ford EcoBoost four-cylinder and there is even a 313 hp electric Cobra. Since January, a Cobra with V8 has also been added. It listens to the name 378 Superblower. Based on that most powerful Cobra, it is now preparing twelve special ‘Anniversary’ editions in honor of the 120th anniversary.
As with the ‘normal’ 378 Superblower, one of the Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZO6 well-known 6.2 V8 with supercharger is responsible for the roaring violence. In the Cobra Superblower, this is good for an output of no less than 588 hp. Shifting is done by means of a manual six-speed gearbox and the drive is of course due to the rear wheels. The photos above show the regular Superblower, but the party edition adds a special color scheme and the necessary Anniversary Edition logos. The 12 party numbers can be ordered in five different historically responsible color combinations, which you can see below.
AC Cars also includes the chassis numbers of the party versions in its ‘AC Bible’, which contains the most memorable creations from its past. Obviously, this must bring about the necessary increase in value later on, because these will probably become real collectors’ objects. In itself that is also allowed for the money. AC Cars asks a converted € 151,300 for the Cobra Superblower Anniversary Edition. AC Cars does seem to be a treat, because that is exactly the same price as it asks for the regular Superblower. That way, the party edition will probably sell out quickly despite its hefty price.
