Fairphone has started testing Android 10 for the Fairphone 2, a phone from 2015. The first beta version is now rolling out to the phone.
Fairphone 2 gets Android 10
The six-year-old Fairphone 2 is one of the few Android smartphones sold that year that still gets software support. This means that Fairphone 2 will be supported for a total of seven years, which is truly unique in the field of software support for Android smartphones.
The Fairphone 2 was originally released with Android 5, and has since been upgraded to Android 6, Android 7.1 and Android 9. Now the first beta version of Android 10 is ready for the phone. Fairphone expects the stable version of Android 10 to be available for the Fairphone 2 in early 2022.
Two things are also central to Fairphone: honesty and sustainability. The company makes every effort to make their smartphones as fair and sustainable as possible. With fair trade, raw materials and employees who are treated and paid well. The company also lets you watch this.
