Ferrari SUV Purosangue up close

Ferrari SUV Purosangue up close

An SUV is currently the largest absentee in the Ferrari model range. Although Ferrari has even put a name to its promised SUV, Ferrari showrooms are still missing any trace of that Purosangue. This new set of spy photos shows the Ferrari Purosangue better than ever.

In February this year, Techzle was already able to provide you with a first series of spy photos of the Purosangue, but those plates had been shot from a great distance. Our spy photographer has now taken a close look at Ferrari’s first SUV. The Purosangue does not appear to be an SUV in the style of the Urus, according to the latest rumors, Ferrari’s SUV will be a relatively low four-seater with a steeply sloping roofline and adjustable ride height.

The Purosangue, which is Italian for whole blood, gets its engine in the front, a machine that is linked to a gearbox located near the rear axle. Ferrari’s SUV will at least get a hybrid powertrain that includes a mighty eight-cylinder and an electric motor. The car in the photos is another so-called mule and that means that under the body of an existing model – in this case that of a Maserati Levante – new technology is being tested. The front is striking, because it already contains Ferrari Roma-like headlights.

We no longer expect the Purosangue on the market before the second half of this year. Anyone who can’t get used to cars like the Aston Martin DBX and Lamborghini Urus and shivers at the thought of a Ferrari SUV should stop reading. Do not count on the Purosangue to remain the only SUV from Maranello. The Purosangue will more or less fill the gap that the GTC4Lusso left behind when it said goodbye.
