Ferrari unveils mighty 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A.

Ferrari is adding a new extreme edition of the 812 Superfast to its range. This is the Ferrari 812 Competizione, a lightweight version of the Ferrari 812 Superfast that is increased to 830 hp and will be available in a limited edition.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast, presented in 2017 as the successor to the F12 Berlinetta, is by no means a joke. In the nose of the Italian is an 800 hp and 718 Nm strong 6.5 V12, but that turns out not to be enough for everyone. Ferrari is pushing forward this 812 Competizione, an exclusive limited-edition extremist that takes the 812 Superfast to a new level in every way.

The Ferrari 812 Competizione has an 830 hp version of the 6.5 V12 of the 812 Superfast as power plant, although the twelve-cylinder with 692 Nm delivers slightly less torque. That machine whines until the rev limiter cuts in at 9,500 rpm. The highest speed of a street-legal Ferrari ever. With this bonk primal force, the 812 Competizione thunders to a speed of 100 km / h in 2.85 seconds. The 200 km / h is on the clock in 7.5 seconds (812 Superfast: 7.9 s) and those who press the pedal long enough against the ground should be able to accelerate to over 340 km / h. The Ferrari 812 Competizione draws its extra horsepower from, among other things, a completely new exhaust system, but the adjusted valve timing also contributes to this. Ferrari has, among other things, adjusted the intake section, pistons, cylinder heads and crankshaft. The seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission shifts up to 5 percent faster than in the original.

But there are more technical adjustments. Ferrari enriches the piece of Italian indulgence with four-wheel steering. In addition, much of the body of the 812 Competizione is made of carbon fiber to keep weight to a minimum. Ferrari’s latest entry puts out 1,487 pounds, 38 pounds less than the original. The exterior is certainly not childishly adapted. In fact, the Ferrari 812 Competizione stares at you as if it prefers to devour you, your loved ones and distant acquaintances with skin and hair. Ferrari is full of its new extremist with its own bumper work, complete with intense cooling vents, wings, lips and edges.

Anyone who has the 812 Superfast in mind will immediately see that the 812 Competizione has a completely new bonnet, a copy that, unlike the example of the 812 Superfast, has to do without cooling slots next to the headlights. Ferrari has put the saw in the 812 Superfast in more areas. For example, we observe cooling openings in the front screens and there are three horizontal cooling slots behind the rear wheels. The rear of the 812 Competizione also distances itself from that of the Ferrari 812 Superfast. The rear spoiler is considerably larger than that of the car on which the 812 Competizione is based. The new model provides more downward pressure and from now on splits through the rear lights and provides more downward pressure. An impressive whole, but there is more. Ferrari, for example, exchanges the glass tailgate of the 812 Superfast for a semi-closed specimen that is made of aluminum. Equally impressive is the gigantic diffuser at the bottom of the rear. There are two vertical, angled chutes on either side of the fully-carbon model. The 812 Superfast has two twin tailpipes on each side of the rear. The external adjustments not only provide the 812 Competizione with improved cooling, but also a whopping 80 kilos more downward pressure at a speed of 200 km / h than the regular 812 Superfast. The track width of the new Italian has been increased by a few centimeters at both the front and rear.

Not enough Ferrari indulgence yet? Then just sit down for it. Ferrari also immediately pulls the curtain off the 812 Competizione A where the A stands for aperta. So open. With that you should see the 812 Competizione A as the sniffed brother of the Ferrari 812 GTS. The drivetrain of the 812 Competizione A is identical to that of its close brother. Ferrari has adapted the aerodynamics to the fact that a roof is not always present. The Ferrari Competizione A gets, among other things, a special roof made of carbon fiber. Like the closed version, the 812 Competizione A stands on 20-inch carbon fiber wheels.

We have to disappoint those who want one. All 999 copies of the more than 5 tonne 812 Competizione to be built and the 599 units to be produced of the 6 tonne 812 Competizione A are already sold out. The 812 Competizione will arrive in the first quarter, the Aperta variant will follow in the last quarter of this year.
