Fiat’s new compact crossover is looking for a name

Fiat has presented a brand new compact crossover to the car country. The small SUV-like has no name yet, but according to Fiat introduces a completely new platform.

Fiat’s marketing department has been heating up for a while before the arrival of Fiat’s new compact crossover and we are not there yet. The new crossover, currently only intended for the South American market, was shown digitally during the final of Big Brother Brasil, but we are not exactly overloaded with information. In fact, the new Fiat doesn’t even have a name yet.

Fiat enlists the help of anyone with an Internet connection for the name of its new model. On a specially designed website you can vote whether the new Fiat crossover will be called Tuo, Domo or Pulse. Then the car, which is also interesting. According to Fiat, the car is on a new platform that goes by the name MLA. The exact differences between the MLA platform and the modular MP-1 base used by cars such as the Argo and Cronos are not explained further.

The new Fiat, which initially went through life under working title Project 363, will probably be available with machines from the FireFly engine family, blown and unblown 1.0s and 1.3s of which we know the turbo variants in Europe in the Fiat Tipo and Jeep Renegade. In any case, new engines are available in Brazil that can handle not only petrol, but also ethanol.

How big the new Fiat is and how the crossover is designed on the inside remains a little mystery for the time being. It is clear that the new Fiat is a very welcome addition to Fiat’s South American delivery range. The brand has compact hatchbacks such as the Mobi and Argo on the market and also sells compact sedans and pick-ups such as the Cronos, Strada, Tori, Siena and Uno.
