Apple has released tvOS 26 and the update fixes Apple TV’s biggest problem. This is how the new feature works!
tvOS 26
This year, tvOS 26 is the update for the Apple TV. The software version brings many new features to the device. Apple brings Liquid Glass with tvOS 26 to the Apple TV, making the operating system look completely different. This new design is reflected in parts such as the Control Panel, notifications and menu bars in various applications. That’s not all, because apps also have a very useful function in tvOS 26.
When you install new applications on the Apple TV, it is often necessary to log in with an account. For example, you all need accounts for apps such as Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max and Videoland. Entering your email address and passwords is no problem on your iPhone or iPad, but with the Apple TV it’s a different story. With the small remote control it often takes more time and effort to enter all the data. Apple fixed that Apple TV problem in tvOS 26.

Easier login
Do you want to log in to an account on the website with your iPhone or iPad? In that case, there is a good chance that you can fill in all the information automatically. If you regularly save email addresses and associated passwords in the Passwords app, your device will automatically fill in this information when you try to log in. This saves a lot of time, because you never have to look up a password again. Unfortunately, the Apple TV had to make do without this feature, but tvOS 26 changes that.
Starting with tvOS 26, all applications on the Apple TV will support automatic login. This means that your email address and password are automatically filled in when you try to log in to an app. To do this, the login details must be linked to the Apple Account that you use on the Apple TV. For example, tvOS 26 solves one of the biggest problems with the Apple TV, because from now on you no longer have to enter all the data yourself.

More about tvOS 26
Not all applications have direct support for the new feature of tvOS 26. Apple has implemented the change in the latest software version, developers can now get started with the new option. They must ensure that you can automatically log in to various apps, so that you no longer have to enter emails and passwords yourself. It is still unknown when commonly used applications such as Netflix, Disney Plus and HBO Max will implement this change.
With tvOS 26 it becomes much easier to log in to applications on the Apple TV. You also get more wallpapers in the new software version and you can set profiles to be displayed by default as soon as you start the Apple TV.
