Mercedes-Benz is about to present its first fully electric car under the Maybach label. We will soon be introduced to the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV, the most opulent variant of Mercedes’ largest electric SUV.
You can currently buy the S-class and GLS in Maybach trim and a variant of the EQS SUV will soon be available in the showroom with not only more optical glimmers, but also more inner indulgence. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV will make its debut at Auto Shanghai in China on April 17.
That there would be a Maybach version of the EQS SUV was already clear before Mercedes-Benz had presented the EQS SUV in regular form. After all, in September 2021, Mercedes-Benz previewed both the EQS and the Maybach version with a concept car.
What powertrain the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV will get remains to be seen. The EQS 580 SUV is currently the strongest variant with its two 523 hp strong powertrains, but the 680 naturally surpasses that. Expect at least two electric motors.
