First prize electric Peugeot e-208 with new powertrain

Until recently, the electric Peugeot e-208, just like cars such as the e-2008 and Opel Corsa-e, Mokka-e and DS 3 Crossback E-Tense, always had a 136 hp and 260 Nm strong electric motor and a 50 kWh battery. That will change. In September, Peugeot presented a new powertrain for the e-208. The electric e-208 gets a new stronger electric motor and a larger battery pack. AutoWeek has already won the first Dutch price of the renewed e-208.

The new electric motor gives the Peugeot e-208 156 hp and 260 Nm. The new battery pack is 51 kWh (net 48.1 kWh). Because the electric motor is not only more powerful but also more efficient, the range of the Peugeot e-208 increases considerably. With an average of 12 kWh per 100 kilometers, energy consumption is just under 18 percent lower, resulting in a range of up to 400 kilometers instead of 362 kilometers. In addition to being more versatile, the Peugeot e-208 is also faster. The top speed remains at 150 km / h, but from a standstill you can now zoom to a speed of 100 km / h in 8.2 instead of 9 seconds. Also good news: an 11 kW three-phase charger is now standard.

Price Peugeot e-208 GT

The Peugeot e-208 with the new powertrain is currently only available as a sporty GT version on the price list. It has a starting price of €37,200 and is therefore only slightly more expensive than the €36,450 ‘old’ e-208 GT with the previous powertrain, which is only available from stock. The other versions of the e-208 are currently equipped with the 136 hp electric motor and the 50 kWh battery. We await a response from Peugeot on whether and when the remaining e-208s will get the new powertrain. Incidentally, the electric version of the Peugeot 308, the e-308, also receives this powertrain.
