First Samsung Galaxy S23(+) renders leaked: flat back

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series will not come to us until the spring of 2023, but the reliable rumor spreader OnLeaks has already shared the first renders of the design of the S23 and S23 Plus. The back of the phones is flat this time.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Renders

Last month we wrote our review of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and then about our experiences with the Galaxy Z Fold 4. However, in September we already see the first renders of the Galaxy S23 series. OnLeaks published renders of the Galaxy S23 Plus on Smartprix and from your base model on digital.

If we look at these images, it is immediately apparent that Samsung deletes the camera island of the S23 series. In exchange, there is a flat back where the three camera lenses float to the top. The devices are automatically more reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra that appeared this year.

More S23 news

Little is known about the specifications of the phones, except that they will probably run again on Samsung’s own Exynos processors and that the battery size of the S23 phones will be slightly larger. Although you could wonder whether this change goes far enough based on the mediocre battery performance of the Galaxy S22. It is an issue that has haunted the base model of the Galaxy S series for several years now.

In the meantime, more is known about the Ultra variant. According to early rumors, Samsung will equip its top model with a 200 MP camera sensor, instead of the 108 MP sensor now used in the S22 Ultra. The camera sensor in question is also known, because it is the ISOCELL HP3 that Samsung has developed itself. It seems that the company makes little changes to the other camera lenses of the Ultra variant.

What do you think of the design on the table here? Are you in favor of this simpler look without a camera island, or do you think Samsung is taking away a recognizable element of the Galaxy S series? Let us know in the comments.
