Fisker now also listed on the stock exchange

Looking for a new investment on the stock exchange? Perhaps Fisker is something for you. Designer Henrik Fisker’s car brand is making a fresh start. As of today, the shares are available on the New York Stock Exchange under the denominator ‘FSR’.

Fisker Inc. expects to collect € 856 million from the issue of shares. The brand wants to use this money to start up the production of the Ocean, a fully electric SUV. This should be done in the fourth quarter of 2022. CEO Henrik Fisker states in a statement that his company can fully focus on this now that the money has been received and the deal with the Austrian Magna Steyr has also been closed. Magna will receive 6 percent of the shares of Fisker in return.

Fisker’s plans don’t lie. In 2025, the brand wants to have four models in the line-up, of which the Ocean will be the first. Fisker is currently in talks with Volkswagen about using its MEB platform for its future models. The ambitions at Fisker do not lie, but previous projects of the former car designer, from whose pencil the Aston Martin DB9 and BMW Z8 resulted, have ended less fortunately. Fisker Coachbuild, his first venture, soon went bust.

Then came Fisker Automotive, which enjoyed more success with the Karma. However, in 2013 that company also went bankrupt and the Chinese took over. Henrik Fisker has meanwhile been involved with VLF Automotive, but that company has not been heard or seen for a while. With Fisker Inc. the Dane hopes to have more success in the EV market. The foundations seem to be there for sure, but given the past, the adage applies here: see first, then believe.
