Five nice Fords Mustang for less than 15,000 euros

The founder of the original design of the Ford Mustang, Gale Halderman, unfortunately passed away. Fortunately, its heritage lives on in various generations of the Mustang, so it’s time to see if you can put that in your driveway for a relatively modest amount. Naturally, the first generation (partly) designed by Halderman is also included. For a maximum budget of € 15,000 you will find quite a lot of fun.

Third generation (built 1986)

Ford Mustang

We start with the probably least loved Mustang; the ‘Fox Body’. The third generation of the Mustang was a child of its time, which unfortunately meant that the once-talked-about shapes of the Mustang disappeared in a design that seemed almost drawn with a ruler. Nevertheless, such a Mustang from the eighties is a striking appearance, since it will undoubtedly be a quite unknown car for many people here in the Netherlands. The fact that these Mustangs are relatively unpopular obviously has a favorable effect on the asking price. For example, for € 6,000 you have this copy from 1986 at your doorstep.

Fourth generation (built in 1996)

Ford Mustang

The fourth generation of the Ford Mustang is still quite widely represented in the Dutch used car market. This was again a bit more talkative model than its predecessor, but the 90s sauce ensures that this design has also withstood the test of time a lot less than the original and retro Mustangs. An early copy looks pretty dull, but the 1999 facelift made it a significantly tighter looking car. However, with Shelby looks and an asking price of just under € 4,500, this prefacelift is still a nice option.

Fourth generation (built in 2003)

Ford Mustang

As mentioned, the Mustang improved significantly during the thorough facelift of 1999. Although the basis of the design was still a nod to the original Mustang in just a few details, the design was in any case a bit tougher than before. In terms of price for a second-hand, the difference with the pre-facelift is not too big. For example, this convertible is offered for € 7,000 and you seem to get a very handsome car for that. In terms of color, it may not be the most striking choice, but this very late copy still looks nice and fresh.

Fifth generation (built in 2004)

Ford Mustang

We jump up in terms of asking price, this Mustang still costs € 14,950, but then you also have a world of difference with the aforementioned cars. This is a very early copy of the generation in which the Mustang regained its old shapes. Ford did well, because the retro Mustang was a huge success. It became clear that the very strong design of the first Mustang in a modern jacket also came into its own. This copy is also nice and thick and let’s face it; that it is already 16 years old, you do not immediately notice. Oh and it runs on gas, not a luxury with a 4.6-liter V8 in the nose.

First generation (built 1965)

Ford Mustang

You may already notice that it is becoming more and more special, but of course we have saved the best for the last time. Of course, nothing beats the real work; the first generation of the Mustang. White may not be such a charming color for this rock-solid design, but for ‘just’ just under € 13,000 you can drive something very nice. It really does not drive very well, such a primal Mustang with in this case a six-cylinder and a four-speed gearbox, but it is quite an experience. If money plays a less important role, it is definitely recommended to take a look at the used car offer, because there are so many more beautiful ones for sale!
