Five sports coupes for less than 20,000 euros

The successor to the Nissan 370Z is not coming to Europe and that is a shame, even though we secretly already took it into account. Nissan’s decision means that the pool of somewhat accessible sports coupes is not getting any thicker. Fortunately, the used car market offers solace! What about these five nice used ones?

1. Audi TT 1.8 5V Turbo (Mk1) – € 8.850

Five sports coupes for less than 20,000 euros

We kick off the list with one of the cheapest options: the first generation Audi TT. This copy dates from 2006, but the TT has been on the market since 1998. Tastes differ, but the TT’s smooth and sleek design has dried up pretty well nonetheless. Admittedly, the TT is not particularly sporty when it comes to its driving characteristics, but in any case you come quickly for the day. This 1.8 5V Turbo with 163 hp still looks pretty good and has 131,253 kilometers behind the molars, hence the still quite solid price. For a lot less you will also find older TTs with a bit more on the counter, often more powerful motorized quattro versions.

2. Peugeot RCZ 1.6 THP – €10.945

The Peugeot RCZ can be seen as the French TT. In particular, the silhouette of the coupé and the shape of the rear side windows are very reminiscent of those of the competitor from Ingolstadt. Nevertheless, the RCZ has its own appearance and the Peugeot genes are clearly visible in the design. This 1.6 THP is from 2011 and has run 138,774 kilometers. Be careful with a possible purchase, because this block is known for having a good gulp of oil.

3. Mini Coupe Cooper S – €11,295

Sports coupe occasion special

Ever seen a car wearing a cap? No? With the Mini Coupé it almost seems that he is wearing a cap backwards, because the shape of the roof is quite unique. At the side windows, the roof first slopes downwards in a flowing arc, before rising diagonally again in a sharp bend. Strictly speaking, the Mini Coupé is a hatchback, but because of its appearance and the fact that it is a two-seater, we still include it in the list. The design should be your thing, but the lower roof and angled windscreen make it more aerodynamic than a regular Cooper and the center of gravity is lower. This fire brigade red Cooper S is from 2012 and has run 119,898 kilometers.

4. Subaru BRZ – €18,900

We make a big price jump to this Japanese: the Subaru BRZ. Subaru and Toyota developed this sports coupe together, it was also delivered as a Toyota GT86 and in America it came on the market as Scion FR-S. The BRZ is one of the last remaining relatively affordable sports coupes. Under the hood is a 200 hp naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer, which in this example is – as it should be – linked to a manual gearbox. It has run 104,412 kilometers and is the cheapest BRZ listed on the Techzle used car finder. For a GT86 you have to tap more than 20 grand. The successor of the Subaru BRZ is not coming to Europe, but luckily there is also good news: the GR86 is coming our way!

5. Nissan 350Z – €18,950

Sports coupe occasion special

The last of this occasion list is a predecessor of the Nissan 400Z that already came by in the introduction. The Nissan 350Z was launched in 2002 and was the long-awaited successor to the 300ZX. This 350Z still looks pretty good and has only run 81,542 kilometers. Cheaper copies can certainly be found, but that’s how we like to see them. With 280 hp, the Z is by far the most powerful car on this list. The Nissan Z will not get a new chapter in our country for the time being, but with this occasion you can certainly have fun.

This list is of course not exhaustive. Have you found a good suggestion in the Techzle used car finder? Leave it in the comments!
