For more space: the Nissan e-NV200 XL Voltia

Nissan expands the European range of the electric e-NV200 with the extra large XL Voltia. Nothing is done about the technology, because the only news is hidden in the trunk.

It took Nissan a while to develop the concept of the electric NV200, but in 2014 the moment was there: the e-NV200 was ready for production. Since then, the electric bus has been driving around as a passenger car or as a buyer, but always with the same construction. With the van, the loading space has therefore always been good for 4,200 liters of luggage. For a compact van large enough, but for the heavy artillery a bit on the tight side. That is why Nissan now comes with a solution in the form of the e-NV200 XL Voltia.

As the plates already reveal, Nissan is building an extra high roof on the bus with this version. In addition, the back is stretched further. The result is impressive, because the newcomer can take 8,000 liters of luggage. So that is a percentage increase of no less than 90 percent. The new extension probably does not improve the range due to the extra air resistance, but Nissan does not mention that. Under the skin, the car continues to elaborate on the technology from regular Leaf. The battery pack is 40 kWh and the electric motor produces 109 hp. The normal e-NV200 comes 170 kilometers with this technical combination.

Nissan has sold 42,000 units since the introduction of the e-NV200, 10,000 of which ended up on European roads last year alone. We are still awaiting a response from Nissan Netherlands to find out whether the e-NV200 XL Voltia is also coming to our country.
