The Ford Mustang came onto the market sixty years ago to the day and Ford of course reflects on that. Various special editions of both the Mustang and Mustang Mach-E are coming.

Big party at Ford, because one of its most iconic models of all time is celebrating its birthday. The first Mustang was sold on April 17, 1964 and that joyful fact cannot go unnoticed. Ford announces that this year it will commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the Mustang in various ways and you can bet that AutoWeek will certainly come back to that. There is now immediate news to report for the current Ford Mustang and the electric Mustang Mach-E.

Starting with the regular Mustang: it can soon be ordered with the so-called Nite Pony Package. Both the Fastback and Convertible can be equipped with this and they have various dark accents, such as Ebony Black painted wheels, black logos, black mirror covers, a black roof and dark headlight housing. More spectacular news is that the insanely strong Ford Mustang GTD, which is also prepared for heavy cornering, is coming our way. This will only be available in limited numbers. In the US it already costs about 300,000 dollars, so you can bet that it might go towards half a million in the Netherlands.

Finally, whether it is a ‘real’ Mustang or not, there is news for the Mustang Mach-E. As announced at the unveiling in September, the heavy top version is coming to the Netherlands. It is now also known exactly when. Ford will open the order books on April 30. We will undoubtedly soon hear what this 486 hp strong Mustang Mach-E will cost.
