The Raptor is the absolute top version of the Ford Ranger. In the Netherlands, the Ford Ranger is 288 hp strong, but the American market is endowed with a much more powerful motorized version. How about a Ford Ranger Raptor with over 400 horsepower?
In the Netherlands, Ford introduced the current generation Ranger in a special way. The sporty Raptor variant was the first taste of the pick-up that would come to our country. The previous Ford Ranger Raptor was only available in the Netherlands with a 213 hp 2.0 biturbo diesel engine, but the current model was introduced with a 3.0 V6 petrol engine with two turbos. We consider the chance that you are short of power in that 288 hp and 491 Nm strong Ranger Raptor to be quite small. Yet there is now a reason to wish for more power.
Ford has now also presented the Ranger in the United States. Ford also introduces the Ranger Raptor there, but on the other side of the large puddle it is a lot more potent than in Europe. The Ford Ranger Raptor also has a 3.0 V6 Ecoboost with two turbos in the United States, but there the double-blown six-cylinder pushes no less than 410 hp and 583 Nm to all four wheels. This makes it no less than 122 hp and 98 Nm more powerful than the version supplied in the Netherlands. Switching is done with a ten-speed automatic transmission, just like in Europe.
We are still awaiting a response from the Dutch importer to the question whether this more powerful Ranger Raptor is also coming our way. In the long term, the Ranger Raptor will also be available in our country with the 213 hp diesel engine of the previous model.
