New large station wagon in the cold
Audi has a series of new electric models in the pipeline, but is not forgetting its more traditional motorized models with combustion engines. The Audi A6 Avant will have a successor, but it will soon be called very differently. It is that new Audi A7 Avant that we can show you quite well on these spy plates.
For its future models, Audi reserves the even numbers for EVs and the odd numbers for models that come with combustion engines. For example, after the upcoming generation change, the A4 Limousine and A4 Avant will be transferred to the A5 family and the A6 Limousine and A6 Avant will soon be known as the A7. We have already shown you the Audi A7 Avant – the successor to the current A6 Avant – in a camouflage suit and now the same A7 Avant has been snapped in the snow.
Let’s be honest: we’re not much wiser from these new photos. This is partly due to the fact that we received exactly the same test model as before for the lens. Another factor is that the camouflage work that is stuck on the test model is only a formality. The Audi A7 Avant reveals virtually all its visual secrets. This time the car is on different shoes and we see a little more of the light signature of the new A7 Avant. We are of course aiming for the arrival of mild-hybrid combustion engines again and there are also several plug-in hybrid flavors in the offing.
And what about the model name A6? Audi will soon put this on an electric alternative to the A7 family. It will consist of a Limousine and an Avant. So there is plenty of choice in Audi’s E-segment.
