Geely’s sub-brand Zeekr has built the first copies of the interesting 001 on paper. We now have more information about the Zeekr 001, a promising EV that will eventually come to Europe.

The Chinese giant Geely manages numerous brands. From Volvo and Polestar to Lotus, Lynk & Co and Geometry. The most recent addition to Geely’s now nine-brand portfolio is Zeekr, a brand with which Geely will focus on the ‘premium’ segment of the electric part of the car world. Doesn’t that overlap with Polestar? Certainly, and in terms of design also with the cars from Lynk & Co, when we see the front of Zeekr’s first production model.

Regardless of the role Zeekr will play in Geely’s portfolio, the brand’s first car is an interesting one. The aptly named 001 4.95 meter long firstborn from Zeekr has a 100 kWh battery in its bottom that should give the car a range of about 700 kilometers. Those who do not necessarily have to approach such a range can accelerate the four-wheel drive Zeekr 001 to a speed of 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds thanks to two 545 hp and 768 Nm strong electric motors. The Zeekr 001 uses Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, a platform that enables, among other things, 800v on-board voltage and thus short charging times.

The first copies of the Zeekr 001 have already been produced in Ningbo, China. Geely has plans to introduce Zeekr in Europe within a few years. First up is the Chinese market. At the end of this year, Zeekr will install its own network of 360 kW charging stations in ten major cities. The Supercharger (V3, 250 kW) passed. The Zeekr 001 is the production version of the Lynk & Co Zero Concept that was presented last year. It is striking that Geely has made a Zeekr of that concept car, which is typically designed as Lynk & Co.
