General Motors unveils new logo

General Motors has a new logo. The company immediately takes the opportunity to underline its plans for EVs on the Ultium platform.

The modified General Motors logo is broadly the same as the old one. Where the old emblem had the letters ‘GM’ as capital letters, they have now been replaced by ‘gm’. In addition, the edges of the square containing the letters have been rounded and the color has been changed. Blue still predominates, but from bottom to top it slowly transitions from dark to light blue. According to General Motors, this symbolizes the ‘clean air of a future without emissions’. The dash below the M refers to the previous GM logos, but also to the Ultium platform, which consists of a flat bottom.

GM has big plans with that Ultium platform. The group is investing $ 27 billion (€ 22.1 billion) in EV development through 2025, by which time 30 new models should be on the platform worldwide. The Cadillac Lyriq and the GMC Hummer EV are extreme examples of this, Chevrolet will also come with an electric pick-up in the foreseeable future. In addition, however, more affordable and smaller models are also appearing on the platform. GM does not hide its goal: “We have the technology and the capacity to put everyone in an EV.”
