Files Go is a handy little app that lets you use Bluetooth to transfer files, among other things. We guide you in its different functions.
Google’s Files Go storage management app is officially available. It makes it easy to free up space, search and transfer files between two mobile devices wirelessly. Here is how to use its functions:
1 – Free up storage space
Files Go has two icons at the bottom of the screen to select Storage mode or Files mode. Storage mode is divided into three sections for removing unused apps, downloaded files, and large files.
- Select the section that interests you. The list of files or applications concerned is then displayed on the screen. Two icons at the top allow you to choose the display mode (list or mosaic), as well as the order (name, date or size).
- Tap the files or apps you want to delete, or the circle at the top to select all the items.
- Touch the button To delete placed at the bottom of the screen.

2 – Find a file or an app
- Touch the icon at the bottom of the screen to switch to mode Files.
- Touch the file category that interests you (Downloads, Received files, Applications, Images, Videos, Audio, Documents).
- Touch the tab to optionally choose a subcategory, for example Screenshots or Camera for Images.
- Touch and hold to select one or more files, or touch a file to open it.
- Touch one of the icons at the top of the screen to choose the action to take (share, delete, rename).

3 – Transfer files between two devices
If the Files Go app is installed on two Android mobile devices, it is possible to easily transfer files using a Bluetooth wireless connection. For that :
- Launch the app on both devices.
- Click on the icon Files at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down until you see the function Secure transfers offline.
- On the sending device, touch the button Send, then the button To receive on the receiving device.
- Accept the different permissions requested by the app and give a name to both devices.

- In the list, tap the name of the destination device, then tap the Connect on the latter.
- A list of files appears. Select the tab of the category that interests you, then the different files. Touch the button Send at the top of the screen to start the transfer.

Allow about 30 seconds to receive about 150 MB of data, or a rate of about 5 MB / s.
