Google has announced a new variant of its Workspace packages, Workspace Essentials. This package is free and includes apps like Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Chat, and more, but no Gmail.

Google Workspace Essentials

Google Workspace Essentials is the name of a new Workspace variant that according to google is intended for small teams, for example in a company or school. These teams can use Essentials to collaborate in video meetings, instant messaging, and online documents, but they’ll have to do without email. Gmail is therefore not available in this package, which makes Essentials primarily suitable for people who already have an email address elsewhere, for example via their own Exchange mail server or a mail server via a company or organization.
