Apple will announce new devices soon! According to the usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, the MacBook Pro will be updated soon. Rumors have been going around for some time that Apple is working on a MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The current version of the MacBook Pro runs on the M5 chip and was released in October 2025. According to Gurman, we won’t have to wait long for the next version.
Apple is expected to release the MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in early March. According to Gurman, the updated MacBook Pro will be released in the first week of March, which is the week of March 2, 2026. Apple usually releases new products on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. That means the next MacBook Pro will probably be on Monday March 2, Tuesday March 3 or Wednesday March 4, 2026 is revealed.
MacBook Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max
The MacBook Pro is receiving a minor update, because Apple only provides the laptop with a new processor. While you can currently choose the M5, M4 Pro and M4 Max chip for the MacBook, it will soon be the M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max chip. The new processors are faster and more energy efficient. The MacBook Pro therefore has even less trouble running multiple heavy tasks at the same time.
The MacBook Pro with M5 chip is currently only available with a 14-inch screen, but that will change next month. Apple is also releasing a 16-inch variant of the MacBook Pro, where you can choose between the M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max chip. The small 14-inch version of the MacBook Pro will be available with the same processors. With the new M5 Pro and M5 Max chip, the MacBook Pro 2026 will be approximately twenty percent faster compared to the MacBook Pro 2024.
More new Apple products
Apple has already released the first product of 2026 with the AirTag 2, but more new devices will be added soon. It seems almost certain that the MacBook Pro with the new M5 Pro and M5 Max chips will be released in early March. In addition, the iPhone 17e, iPad 2026 and the iPad Air 2026 are expected soon. Apple may choose to present these products around the same period.
It is not yet expected that Apple will organize a special event to unveil the new products. Instead, the company will probably issue press releases announcing the new devices.
