New battery pack

London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) is the manufacturer of the latest interpretation of the iconic London black cab. LEVC is introducing a new powertrain for both its TX and VN5 van.
In 2017, LEVC – now one of the many brands of the Chinese Geely – pushed the TX forward. The TX is a modern interpretation of the well-known London taxis of yesteryear, but unlike its immediate predecessor, it does not have a diesel engine under the hood. Instead, the LEVX TX is a plug-in hybrid, as is the later VN5 van. Both models now get an improved plug-in hybrid powertrain.
The LEVC TX and VN5 previously had a 31-kWh battery pack. This will make way for a 34.6-kWh model. On electrical power alone, the two now reach a maximum of 126 instead of 103 kilometers. As before, the TX and VN5 have a blown 1.5 three-cylinder from Volvo that acts as a range extender.
Incidentally, LEVC has big plans in the EV field. You can read more about that here.
