Here’s how to disable in-app purchases

To avoid accidentally making in-app purchases on your Android phone, iPhone, or iPad, you can disable in-app purchases. We explain how you do that.

By disabling in-app purchases, every time you want to make a purchase you will have to manually agree to the payment, for example by entering your password. This is also useful if your children are occasionally on your phone or tablet.

On an Android device

If you are an Android user, you have to go to the Google Play Store to arrange this. Tap your profile icon to go to Settings to go. below Verification do you find the option Require verification for purchases† Here you can indicate that all purchases you want to make on the respective mobile device must be verified.

If you expect to make several purchases in a shorter time, you can also choose the option Every 30 minutes† There is then a half hour period in which you can make new purchases before you have to enter your password again.

If you accidentally made an in-app purchase, you can request a refund from Google. Do this within 48 hours of making the purchase. Via the Google Play support page you can request a refund.

On an iPhone or iPad

Restricting in-app purchases on an iPhone or iPad is done through the Screen Time option. This feature can be found in the Settings app. Make sure you have enabled the screen time option: only then will you find the options you need.

Then tap Limits and put the slider behind Limits at. Then you choose iTunes Store and App Store† Bee In-app purchases select you do not allow to prevent you from simply buying things via an app. There is nothing more to it.

Apple also has a return policy. Log in to reportaproblem.apple.com via your web browser and choose I would like and then for Request a refund† Under the right of withdrawal, you may cancel an order without giving any reason within 14 days of purchase. Apple will then refund the amount within a few days.
