Privacy has been a big deal for Apple for years. But your iPhone has something for that: the Privacy Report. It shows you which apps have access to your personal data and how often. Here’s how it works.
Privacy Report on your iPhone: how to use it
With the App Privacy Report, Apple gives its users more insight into what apps know about you and how often they access this data. To view this data, follow the steps below.
- Tap Settings;
- Scroll down and select ‘Privacy and security’;
- At the bottom, tap ‘App Privacy Report’;
- Select the app you want to read more information about.
On the ‘App Privacy Report’ page there are several blocks of information. When you select an app in the top block you will see what data these apps have requested in the past seven days.
In the block below you can find all network activities of apps. If you tap on one of these apps you will see, for example, which websites you have visited in the app and which domains the app has connected to.
At the very bottom you will see the block with network activity of websites. If you tap on one of the websites you will also see here with which domains the website has connected. Further down you will find the last option of the privacy report on your iPhone. There you will find a list of the apps in which you have viewed the website.
