MG, Aiways, Hongqi, Xpeng, Nio, BYD: the list of Chinese brands that you can buy in the Netherlands has grown rapidly. Another one will probably be added soon: HiPhi. HiPhi’s first car should be launched in Europe at the end of this year.

Anyone who visits AutoWeek.nl frequently has undoubtedly read about HiPhi. HiPhi is a brand of the Chinese Human Horizons that describes itself as premium. In 2019, Human Horizons showed its first study model in the form of the HiPhi 1. That car went into production in a remarkably mildly modified form as HiPhi X and HiPhi now also has a much more extravagantly designed HiPhi Z on the menu. AutoWeek already surfaced patent drawings of the HiPhi Z registered in Europe in mid-2022, which suggested that the Chinese brand also wants to set foot on European soil in the long term. That will actually happen.

HiPhi’s Chief Technology Officer Mark Stanton tells the English Autocar that HiPhi will soon announce a third model that should also be on sale in Europe around the end of this year. That third model must be a lot more accessible in terms of both cost and design than the HiPhi Z and X. The third model of HiPhi – which may be called HiPhi Y – must also be a size smaller than the two existing electric models. “Our first two models are quite large. That’s fine for the Chinese market, but not necessarily for elsewhere in the world,” Stanton told the English medium.

More information about the electric model to be introduced in Europe is not yet available. Here you can read more about the HiPhi X and the apparently straight from the future HiPhi Z.
