The second-generation Honda NSX is on the brink of leaving car land behind, but at the end of its career, the hybrid super-Honda is still setting a lap record to its name.
It will soon be over for the now six-year-old Honda NSX. Honda has now started to wave goodbye to its hybrid supersport and has presented a special Type S variant to give the car a dignified goodbye. Exactly that NSX Type S helps him in the autumn of his life to a lap record at the Long Beach Circuit in the American state of California. It concerns a 3.2 kilometer long street circuit, of which Honda’s luxury brand Acura – which sells the NSX in the United States – is not entirely coincidentally the title sponsor.
An Acura Type S with driver Ricky Taylor at the wheel completed a lap of the 11-turn Long Beach circuit in 1:32:784. Almost three seconds faster than the previous record set in a regular NSX. Honda/Acura can once again call its NSX the fastest production car on the American circuit.
