Time capsule

‘I wish I were back in 1981Jeff Lynne of Electric Light Orchestra once sang. Do you recognize that feeling? Then take a good seat. With this Honda Prelude you come pretty close.
The first generation of the Honda Prelude appeared a bit earlier than 1981, but this silver-grey copy is from that year. It was the last full year of production of the first Prelude. In 1982, the second, which was particularly flashy for its time, appeared, with the pop-up headlights. In the Prelude that we have before us, the 1970s still shine through. Nevertheless, Honda also showed itself nice and creative with this Prelude, also in the interior. Take a look at that specially arranged instrument panel, with the warning lights cozily together in a separate cluster in the middle. Or what about the rotary knobs for the radio, one of which is just around the corner.
Honda Prelude
The Prelude was one of the cars that gave the Japanese brands a little more prestige here in the Netherlands. No longer were they just good for competitively priced no-nonsense models, they could also make really nice cars for those who wanted a bit more charisma. Moreover, such a Prelude was still quite light-footed for a coupé. With a weight of less than a ton and an 80 hp 1.6 in the nose, you could get along just fine. Unfortunately, in this case, an automatic does get out of the way.
That machine is therefore immediately actually the only downside of this specific Prelude. We also look over the dent in the front screen, a restyler is probably done with that in no time. No, otherwise it looks like a very nice thing in a very acceptable condition. The five-digit odometer shows 85,009 km and who knows, it may never have been completely round. Whether that can be checked? It looks like there are some papers included, although the question is whether the documentation of this recently imported copy is conclusive. With an asking price of €8,950 (converted even more than the car cost new), some background information would be welcome. On the other hand, find one more.
