Most home users have a printer that can print the content neatly on A4 sheets, but what if you want to make a print in a larger format, for example for a poster, interior or garden plan or a banner? Forget the external printing service or special programs, because the free Acrobat Reader is perfectly capable of doing this job for you.
Big format
Acrobat Reader is a free tool from the Adobe fleet that allows you to view and print PDF files. Many people do not know that this tool also has a function to divide a large document into several pages. After everything has been printed (with overflow), simply place the A4 sheets on top of each other on the overlap, stick or glue them together, and you’re done. Such an overlap can be disturbing for posters, but this is hardly noticeable with a map of your garden or house. One condition is that it is a PDF file, but most programs with which you create such a design can write to PDF.
block scale
Open the file and choose File / Print. Bee Pages to Print activate the option All. The core of such a large format print is in the Poster tab. With the option block scale reduce or enlarge the pages by the indicated amount. The preview on the right not only shows how the total printout will be distributed over the separate A4 sheets, you can also see exactly how large the composite print will be and how many A4 sheets the poster will consist of in hundredths of a millimeter.
overlap
At the institution overlap enter a value that is wide enough for the glue border. The higher the number of millimeters you specify here, the easier it will be to stick everything together. The option Cut marks creates small marks on the pages that indicate where to cut to make sure everything fits together perfectly. If you Labels select, the file names, page numbers, and tile coordinates are printed on each page. If the poster consists of many pages, it will help to put it together.
