‘Hundreds of people must promptly hand in lease cars’

Many people with a lease car from the same lease company recently encountered an unpleasant situation. The actual owners of the cars come to collect the cars, because the lease company in question has payment arrears.

It concerns cars that are leased from Car Driver Deals. That reports RTL News, that draws attention to the situation. A few victims explained to this medium that their car was sometimes completely unexpectedly seized. In some cases a letter was sent in advance, but in other cases the car was simply picked up suddenly. Any personal belongings in the car could only be retrieved later on location.

The method differs, as it concerns cars of different owners. For example, there are cars from rental companies Sixt and Avis, but also from leasing companies Multilease and Alphabet. The common denominator is Car Driver Deals, which rented the cars from these parties and then leased them to the affected persons for an amount paid in advance. A payment arrears from CDD to the rental and leasing companies now leads to the unexpected recovery of the cars for customers.

There is a website established to keep the people who have been duped informed. CDD itself lets through his website know that ‘a solution is being sought for those involved’. It is also stated that the collection of the cars by the owners takes place ‘without legal basis’ and without consultation with CDD and that CDD would have liked to warn its customers in advance. On a special Facebook page for victims The gentlemen behind CDD have said that they are “…well advanced with investors willing to help restore the agreement the customer has entered into with Car Driver Deals.”
