Hyundai Ioniq 5 N gets drift mode

The Ioniq 5 has appeared on Hyundai’s N division radar. For almost a year, packed test copies of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N have been popping up every now and then and now Hyundai itself is releasing photos of its first-ever electric N model. The sporty top version of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is coming this year and now we also know a little more about what the car has to offer.

The Ioniq 5 N will not only be the first electric Hyundai with sporty N genes, but also the first all-wheel drive N model. How powerful will the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N be? Hyundai does not say that yet, but the 585 hp powertrain of sister model Kia EV6 GT undoubtedly gives a good indication of what you performance version can expect. The photos released by Hyundai of the Ioniq 5 N show the fantastic BEV in action near the test center of Hyundai Mobis in Arjeplog, Sweden.

Hyundai is already releasing that the Ioniq 5 N – like the Kia EV6 GT – will get an electronic locking differential that it has dubbed e-LSD. A system that Hyundai de N Drift Optimizer has mentioned, you must also be able to perform ‘controlled drifts’ in the Ioniq 5 N, as the amount of torque distributed between the front and rear wheels is highly variable, among other things. With the Kia EV6 GT, up to 100 percent of the power goes to the rear wheels and we expect the Ioniq 5 N to offer the same in drift mode. Hyundai will pull the curtain off the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N in July this year. Incidentally, there also seems to be an executioner of an N version of the Ioniq 6 N in the long term.
